SumaiL out, Resolut1on in for Just Error in EPIC League playoff

Syed “SumaiL” Hassan may be without a team once again.

Just Error has announced that it will be substituting Roman "Resolut1on" Fominok for SumaiL in the EPIC League Division 2 playoffs. The organization stated that this is a temporary measure, but the dynamics of the team and the timing of the decision suggests that it may be a trial run for Resolut1on to permanently replace SumaiL.

Just Error’s lineup after the move stands as follows:

  1. Roman "RAMZES666" Kushnarev
  2. Vladimir "No[o]ne" Minenko
  3. Roman "Resolut1on" Fominok
  4. Bakyt "Zayac" Emilzhanov
  5. Alexey "Solo" Berezin

With the addition of Resolut1on, No[o]ne also transitions from Just Error’s offlane role back to the mid lane. SumaiL had returned to the mid lane position after largely playing as a carry since his split from Evil Geniuses in 2019. This forced No[o]ne into the offlane, despite his spending the vast majority of his career as a solo mid.

Resolut1on is a proven talent with a long history of helping teams overachieve. The greatest example of this was his stint with Digital Chaos which saw the team reach the grand finals of The International 2018. Alongside this were top-eight finishes at The International 2018 with VGJ.Storm and at The International 2017 as a substitute for Team Empire. He most recently played with Virtus.pro as part of a roster that posted generally strong results.

Resolut1on offers a number of different benefits for Just Error. In addition to allowing No[o]ne to return to his preferred position, he is also a native Russian speaker which should help the team iron out any communication issues it may have had with SumaiL. Resolut1on will also remedy any connectivity troubles that may have been present with SumaiL.

Though this Just Error lineup is loaded with talent, its debut did not go as planned. The team took a 2-0 loss to Live to Win in its debut. They’ll look to stay alive in the tournament in a lower bracket series against Alliance.

Why was SumaiL removed from OG?

Sebastian “Ceb” Debs stated that SumaiL’s removal from OG’s roster stemmed from his inability to travel to Europe. Travel limitations in 2020 separated SumaiL from the rest of the OG roster, as he was in North America and OG was based in Europe. Though OG initially remained active and allowed SumaiL to compete from overseas, he was dropped as the team started boot camping to prepare for larger tournaments.

Who is SumaiL playing for?

SumaiL is currently still attached to the Just Error roster, though it is unknown what the future may hold for him. Regardless of his status with the team, expect him to be attached to a team for the start of the 2021 Dota Pro Circuit season in January.
